Vitamin A

Vitamin A, also known as retinol, a vitamin that plays a role in the formation of a good sense of sight, especially at night, and as one of the components of eye pigment in the retina. In addition, this vitamin also plays an important role in maintaining healthy skin and immunity. These vitamins are easily damaged by exposure to heat, sunlight and air. Food sources that contain lots of vitamin A, among others, milk, fish, vegetables (especially green and yellow), and fruits (especially red and yellow, like red peppers, carrots, bananas, and papayas) .
In case of vitamin A deficiency, the patient will experience night blindness and cataracts. In addition, patients with vitamin A deficiency may also experience respiratory tract infections, immune deficiencies, and skin conditions that are less healthy. Excess intake of vitamin A can cause toxicity in the body. Diseases that can be caused, among other headaches, hair loss, dry scaly skin, and fainting. In addition, if already in acute conditions, excess vitamin A in the body can also lead to myopia, poor growth of the body, swelling of the liver, and skin irritation.

When a food is digested by the body, vitamins are released will get into the bloodstream and circulate throughout the body. If not needed, this vitamin will immediately dispose of the body with urine. Because of this, the body needs water-soluble vitamin intake on a continuous basis.
